Site Preparation and Procedure

1. Wearing protective gloves and safety goggles, clean joints with wire brush, removing all dirt, grass, debris and old filler material.
2. Carefully push backer rod into the joint with a blunt tool & cut to desired length. If necessary, use the blunt tool or roller to secure backer rod in the joint.
3. Joint width to depth ratio should be 2 to 1 with a minimum depth of 1/4” or a maximum depth of 1/2”.
4. For best results, diameter of the backer rod should be 1/8” larger than the width of the joint.
